Wisely Said describes an element in most worship services that is focused primarily but not exclusively on the participation of children and sometimes youth. Rev. Jan commonly prepares it as a dialogue between herself and the youngsters on some facet of the focus of the worship service. Such dialogue may be inspired by a story real or imagined. Occasionally Wisely Said becomes Wisely Sung, if youngsters are invited to join in learning a new song or to sing a song that they know and talk about why it matters. Pulpit guests often share a story relevant to the theme of the service and followed by questions and comments from the youngsters. This is a time in our communal worship for our children to be seen and heard and to experience themselves as a vital part of congregational life.
