Prayer/meditation
A common understanding of prayer is an action, invocation or petition to connect to God or spirit, sometimes with the hope of some specific outcome. Prayer is understood differently by UUs and differently by each individual UU. Prayer can also be understood as a way activate a deeper relationship to self and the world, spontaneous, recited or read. Prayer can be lifting up what it on your heart, a commitment to act to help create the world you dream about, an expression of gratitude for the blessings you encounter or enjoy. For some ideas about UU prayers (and these examples are only a beginning) check out the links below.
Spiritual Practice
A spiritual practice or spiritual discipline (often including spiritual exercises) is the regular or full-time performance of actions and activities undertaken for the purpose of cultivating spiritual development. A common metaphor used in the spiritual traditions of the world's great religions is that of walking a path.[1] Therefore a spiritual practice moves a person along a path towards a goal. The goal is variously referred to as salvation, liberation or union (with God). A person who walks such a path is sometimes referred to as a wayfarer or a pilgrim. (From Wikipedia)

UU History or how we got here
The class has been working up resources on famous UUs. Click below to see Famous UU List, web pages and to link back to the history of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden. Homework for 10 November: read the "Our Roots" section of The UU Pocket Guide, explore the links on the Famous UUs web sites and read the UUCM History on the UU Meriden web page.
On 3 November the Coming of Age Class concluded covenant building and continue our Famous UU project. Each participant is to identify three (3) sources of information on famous UUs and to provide names of (3) three famous UUs with their birth and death (if deceased) years. Most have sent in their info, but not everyone.
